While I was in Germany, I had the privilege of visiting with Lenore Appelhans and her husband Daniel Jennewein in Frankfurt (recap of our splendid time here).
Before I left their house, I ended up having to rearrange my suitcase because she sent me on my way with these 8 books to take home with me:

I have no delusions that I'll actually be able read these books, but I just like having them on the shelves. I know some German, so maybe the drawings in Diary of a Wimpy Kid will help me figure out what I'm reading. The Hunger Games, however, would probably take me a lifetime to figure out.

ReplyDeleteOh wow... That's like the hugest list ever. How will you read them all? I'm sort of torn over Wanderlove. Don't know if it's really my kind of read... on the other hand it's been getting so many great reviews and I've been reading books I wouldn't normally pick up and enjoying them a lot. Decisions, decisions.

CHASING BROOKLYN is a beautifully written novel in verse. Ms. Schroeder ties in characters from her first novel, I HEART YOU, YOU HAUNT ME to ease the grief that the main characters are suffering.
ReplyDeleteBrooklyn was Lucca's girlfriend. She has been struggling with her grief over Lucca's senseless death for an entire year. Nico is Lucca's brother. He, too, has been torn apart by the loss of Lucca, but for different reasons.
