It's Monday! What are you reading? 6-20-16

It's Monday! What are you reading? Is a wonderful community of readers, teachers, and librarians. Hosted by Jen over at Teach Mentor Texts along with Kellee and Ricki at Unleashing Readers, participants share their reading adventures from the past week along with their reading plans for the week ahead.

Last week I posted:

Ms. Bixby's Last Day blog tour

I didn't finish any books last week, but I seemed to have started a whole slew of them, so here's what I've been reading with my eyes and ears this past week:

Hamilton: The Revolution by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Jeremy McCarter
Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow
Because like many of you, I have recently been stricken with #hamilaria

Jimi and Me by Jaime Adoff
Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige

  1. I read Chernow's book in preparation for teaching history - such a great read!

  2. I'm slowly getting through Hamilton the Revolution, too! I love reading it as I listen to the music. Love love love the music. Fingers are crossed for getting tickets for Chicago tomorrow!

  3. I know books about Hamilton are very popular right now because of the Broadway play. Hope you're having fun reading them. I'll put them on the towering pile of books I ought to read. Have a great week reading!

  4. The new, and older, Hamilton books are on my list, but may not get to them soon. Have seen Ms. Bixby in several places because of the tour, sounds good. Thanks, Beth.

  5. I'm glad you liked Ms. Bixby also. I thought it was such a touching and sad story.
I have not jumped on the Hamilton bandwagon yet (I haven't even listened to it because I know I am going to get obsessed!). I think I need to remedy that...

    Happy reading this week :)

  6. Your Hamilton posts on Facebook make me so happy. I love them!

  7. I plan to read the two Hamilton books too sometime this summer. I so enjoy the music. :)

  8. I've got Mrs. Bixby on my to read list. I hope to get to it soon. Hamilton has been completely off my radar
