It's Monday! What are you reading? 9-16-13

Originally hosted by Sheila at Book Journey, Jen over at Teach Mentor Texts along with Kellee and Ricki at Unleashing Readers also host a kidlit version of It's Monday! What are You Reading?

Some picture books I rather enjoyed last week:

123 versus ABC by Mike Bolt
Mr. Tiger Goes Wild by Peter Brown

You Are Stardust by Elin Kelsey, illustrated by Soyeon Kim
The Very Inappropriate Word by Jim Tobin, illustrated by Dave Coverly

Hello, My Name Is Ruby by Phillip C. Stead

Last week I finished listening:

Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins

Currently (still) reading:

Mastering the Art of Soviet Cooking: A Memoir of Food and Longing by Anya von Bremzen
Living with Jackie Chan by Jo Knowles

Currently (still) listening:

Sidekicked by John David Anderson
Queen of the Air: A True Story of Love and Tragedy at the Circus by Dean Jensen

  1. The Hex Hall series is really popular in my library, and Hawkins' new title is always checked out as well. The Soviet Cooking memoir looks intriguing.

  2. I also loved Mr Tiger Goes Wild. Just read it this week. Can't wait to read Hello, My Name is Ruby. The cover is stunning. I have been watching for this book since I first saw Stead was to have a new picture book out. Are you enjoying Living with Jackie Chan? Another title I am very interested in!

    1. I am enjoying LIVING WITH JACKIE CHAN but for some reason I'm not tearing through it the same way I did JUMPING OFF SWINGS.

I was bummed because there was an event last Monday for HELLO MY NAME IS RUBY but I couldn't go because I have class in the evening on Mondays.

  3. I blogged about you!

  4. Thanks for this great list! I am familiar with some of the titles (The Very Inappropriate Word and ABC vs 123) but am happy to see some new titles as well. Lots of reviews lately about Mr. Tiger Goes Wild and Hello, My Name is Ruby looks lovely. Sidekicked is next on my novel list! Have a great week!

  5. I enjoyed Mr. Tiger Goes Wild. I just now requested Hello, My Name is Ruby and The Very Inappropriate Word. Thanks for sharing these.

  6. Jo Knowles' book is on my to buy list. We loved "See You At Harry's" so much!

  7. I am still quite anxious to read your thoughts on Living with Jackie Chan. I will eagerly await your review next week! :) :)
