Food
trucks have become the new, hip way to eat on the go, and in this collection of poems, Mark Todd explores some of the different types of
cuisines and themes most commonly found in food trucks. Everything from barbeque to clam chowder, Todd manages to create both delightful poems and endearing illustrations. Given that food trucks in real-life often have personalities all their own, why not create a book a picture book with illustrations of anthropomorphized food trucks? Seems legit. And despite how strange it sounds in premise, it somehow works.
Included among the poems and illustrations are real-life food truck facts peppered throughout the book. Just a word of warning: this book will make you hungry so don't read it if it's been many hours since your last meal.

My sister-in-law and I once did a NYC Food Truck tour that was so much fun and so delicious.
ReplyDeleteThat looks fun! I love the cover. Food trucks really do have personality, don't they?

I agree. This looks like fun
ReplyDeleteI wish we had more of a food truck scene here in central New York. This book looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love food trucks! Living in NYC, we had quite the pickins'!
ReplyDeleteFood trucks are all over the place here in DC. I'd be interested in checking this one out just for that. Nice find!
ReplyDeleteCute idea and a good way to appeal to the parents, too!
ReplyDeleteLOL, seems a little odd to me. Sadly we don't really have a food truck culture in Australia. Wish we did though.
ReplyDeletePlease drop by and see what I am cooking this weekend,

We have a few in this area, but unfortunately most of what they cook is either burgers or very cheese focuses and that just doesn't appeal to me. They do have very specific characters though. So colourful and different from each other. Hubby loves eating at them, so i enjoy via his enjoyment.
ReplyDeleteI miss the food trucks of Chicago. We only have a few where we live now in Iowa but it is a fun thing to read about in a book.
